Social Saturday

I thought it would be fun to start a weekly post in which I can hear from you. I post all week about my thoughts, share my samples, and share with you what I have been working on but this is my opportunity to hear from you. So each week I will post a question and I want to hear your answer. To respond simply add a comment to the post before I randomly choose one comment on Monday. The persons whose comment is chosen will receive a special handmade card! You can play and win as often as you like. I have lots of adorable cards that need a home! Be sure to check back to see if your comment won!

I would like to start a weekly post in which I teach different techniques, but first I need to hear from you what you want to learn. What techniques would you like me to demonstrate here on my blog?

Island Floral Flower

Here is a card that you may have seen before. We made this back in July when I held my annual Hostess Appreciation Luncheon. To achieve the background I embossed Soft Suede cardstock with the Square Lattice Embossing folder and then using a brayer I applied Very Vanilla Craft Ink. The flower is from the Island Floral Bigx Die and to make it pop a little more I embossed one layer of the flower to give a little variety.

I am posting this again as no one played along last week. Don't miss out as I have some addorable cards that need a home!

I absolutely love EVERY stamp set in the new Occasions Mini, but if I had to pick one I would say that my favorite is the Easter Blossoms.

It reminds me of spring which is probably my favorite season. The tress are blossoming, the weather is getting warmer, and the smells in the air are blissful. Whats your favorite stamp set from the new Occasions Mini catalog?

Thanks from a Friend

This is a card I received from a friend I made this last summer at Convention, Lonni. You can always count on making new friends when your surrounded by creative stampers all pumped after three non stop days of Stampin' Up!  I met Lonni in an organized swap I signed up for. She amazed me with her Masculine swap and amazed me again when I received this card using the stained mosaic technique. Her card is so lovely with all the layers and textures. Thanks so much, Lonni!

Southwestern Cross of Hope

I live in the Southwest and crosses are very popular for decor, especially crosses made from iron or metal. This is my rendition made into a card which was really quite simple to make. I stamped the cross from the Crosses of Hope stamp set on Crumb Cake Cardstock with Early Espresson Ink and embellished it with the smallest size Basic Pearls. the cardstock is then layered and I punched the corners using the Ticket Corner Punch to give it just a little more depth.
