MOJO 218: Wild for Stripes

Here is my card for this week's Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge:

My inspiration for this card came from the Pick Your Poison Designer Series Paper. This is the last month for the current Holiday Mini Catalog and I still have lots of this DSP so I wanted to find a way to use it in a non Halloween way. It's perfect for a masculine card! I stamped the zebra from Zoo Review twice and actually cut one completely out and layered it over the first one with Dimensionals. And it wouldn't be complete with some stripes from the Stripes Embossing Folder. What do you think?

Stamps:Zoo Review
Ink: Black Staz On, Basic Gray
Card stock:Whisper White, Basic Black, Basic Gray, Pick Your Poison DSP
Accessories: Dimensionals, Aqua Painter, 2 1/2" Circle Punch

MOJO 217: My Sweet Friend

Here is my card for this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge:

Today I didn't feel like making a Christmas card, however I was thinking that the Holly Berry DSP would go perfectly with this weeks sketch. So, I thought I could change it up a bit and use it with the You Are Loved stamp set from the Holiday Mini Catalog. I am so please with how it turned out, and excited I figured out a way to use Christmas supplies in a non Christmas way. I think this stamp set is going to be a favorite of mine, even long after it's no longer available in the Holiday Mini.

Here is a close up of the little flower embellishment I made using the Itty Bitty Punches. I finished it off with a tiny Pearl from the Basic Pearls. Now what friend wouldn't want to receive this card in the mail?

Mojo 215: Birthday Stars

Here is my card for this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge:

As soon as I saw this sketch I just knew I wanted to use the Stars Die with the Glimmer Paper to make the perfect sparkling birthday card. This card is a wonderful example for a masculine card. I used both the Hounds tooth and Square Lattice Embossing Folders to give it some texture. And the Mini Brads add the perfect finishing touch to the card.

This is the first circle card I've made and I am so pleased with it! Again I used many layers to create depth to the card. And with the Big Shot the textures, shapes, and depth couldn't be easier! MOJO 212: Life on the Wild Side

Here is my sketch for this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge:

When I saw the slender focal point it just screamed Giraffe! And I've had this set for a while and haven't used so this was perfect! I started by embossing the background of Cajun Craze cardstock with the Hounds tooth Embossing folder. I layered a piece of the Well Worn Designer Series Paper which helps make this card look Masculine. I water colored the giraffe with the Water color Crayons and layered that onto an Early Espresso piece of cardstock which was punched with the Pinking Hearts Border Punch. I find this is a good punch to use on masculine cards, don't you think? Finish with a tag, button, and some brads and there you go!

MOJO 210: Happy Halloween

Here is my card for this weeks MOJO Monday Sketch Challange:

Isn't it spooky! I used the Pick Your Poison DSP again for another Mojo Monday Sketch. Stampin' Up's Designer Series Paper makes it so easy to create a quick card for any season! I incorporated it with the Dark & Dreary Stamp Set to create the focal point. And whats that trim you ask? Well it's the Tasteful Trim Die in which I ran the black piece of cardstock through, then offset it and ran it through again. Finished with a little embellishment of Mini Brads and Linen thread and there you have it!

MOJO 209: Just Spooky

Here is my project for this weeks MOJO Monday Sketch :

Since it's getting close to Halloween, and I have this wonderful new Halloween Designer Series Paper, I decided to make a spooky card for this weeks sketch. This was pretty easy since I just layered the Pick Your Poison Designer Series Paper. I punched the word with the  1 3/8" Circle Punch and layered it on the Scallop Circle Punch. To finish it off I layered the Peach Parfait 1/2" Stitched Poly Ribbon over the 1 1/4" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, fastened with a Vintage Brad, and sponges it in Basic Black Classic Ink to make it look old.

MOJO 208: I do!

Here is my card for this weeks MOJO Monday Sketch :

Simple and sweet this week, and I am doubling my efforts as I am using this card for a black and white challenge I am participating in as well! I stamped the "Happy I do day" from the Word Play stamp set in Staz On. To give the card a little more character I embossed the Basic Black card stock with the Stripes Embossing Folder, and the Whisper White card stock with the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder. It kind of gives the car a his and hers feeling, don't you think?

Mojo Monday

I know its been a while since I've participated and posted for the Mojo Monday Challange. Mojo Monday is currently on vacation so I thought I would share one of my previous posts until it returns and I can participate again. This was originally published on April 19th, 2011.

Here is my card for this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch and I think it's my best one yet!

This card took quite a bit of time but I must say it's absolutely beautiful! I've seen these strawberries before and have been wanting to try them out; for today's sketch it just went perfectly with the layout. The strawberry is made using the Scallop Heart Die along with the Little Leaves Die which I ran through the Big Shot Machine. I used the Boho Blossom Punch and Daffodil Delight Brads  for the little strawberry flowers. There are many layers and lots of Dimensionals. I did some faux stitching with the Mat Pack, Paper Piercer, and Gel Pen. I used the Eyelet Border Trim Punch for the scallops along the bottom. I topped it off with some Whisper White Satin Ribbon, and a little tag stamped with the You're a Gem stamp set which I punched with the 3/4" Circle Punch, 1" Circle Punch in Real Red, and another Whisper White 1 1/4" Circle Punch.

MOJO 192: With Love

Here is my card for this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch

Today I am using one of the hostess sets from the Summer Mini Catalog called Love & Care. When I first saw this set it screamed Water Color Crayons to me. So today I used them to color the stamps and created a light subtle stamped image. To learn step by step how to achieve this water colored effect plan to attend my Coloring Class June 18th!

As usual I used many layers. For my background I used the Petals A Plenty Embossing Folder and actually used the reversed side of flowers. The bottom is punched with the Eyelet Border Punch. I punch the smaller flower with the 1"3/8 Circle Punch and layered this onto the Scallop Circle Punch, which I embellished with the Basic Pearls. For my tag I used Large Tag Punch and the Extra Large Tag Punch which made it a breeze to center the sentiment. I added some 1 1/4" Stripped Grosgrain Ribbon and finished off the card with some Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz. What do you think?

MOJO 191: Summer Splash

Here is my card for this weeks Mojo Monday

Today I decided to use the Summer Splash stamp set from the New Summer Mini Catalog. Isn't this stamp set so cute for a little boy? I colored the surf boards using the Stamp in Write Markers in Cajun Craze, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, and Marina Mist and stamped them on Naturals White Cardstock. Then I layered this with Crumb Cake, Marina Mist Designer Series Paper, Marina Mist Cardstock and finally Crumb Cake Cardstock. To the side I showcased the little Turtle from the stamp set, stamped him twice so I could layer him with Dimensionals and added Crystal Effects to his shell. I punched a 1 1/4" Circle from Daffodil Delight and then punched the Scallop Circle around that to create the ring around the turtle. I embellished with three little Daffodil Delight Brads and stamped the Happy Birthday from the All Holidays stamp set. I think this card will be perfect for my nephew's birthday in a couple of months! And he's really into stamping and loves this set so this card will be the perfect accompaniment to the stamp set which I will gift him as well!

MOJO 190: The Open Sea for a Friend

Here is my card for this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch

I was going through my cards this weekend and I just don't have enough Masculine cards. I think those are my biggest challenge and since Father's Day is coming up I figured I should probably start focusing on cards for Men. I used The Open Sea stamp set from the new Summer Mini Catalog along with the Nautical Expedition Designer Series Paper. I stamped the sentiment from All Holidays. I created lots of layers and textures using the Square Lattice and Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folders. I also used the Scallop Circles #2 and the Circles #2 BigZ Dies. I embellished the card with some Neutrals Designer ButtonsLinen Thread, and Early Espresso 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon. The final touch was the anchor which I carefully cut out, applied Crystal Effects to it and sprayed it with Gold Glow Smooch Spritz.
