MOJO 192: With Love

Here is my card for this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch

Today I am using one of the hostess sets from the Summer Mini Catalog called Love & Care. When I first saw this set it screamed Water Color Crayons to me. So today I used them to color the stamps and created a light subtle stamped image. To learn step by step how to achieve this water colored effect plan to attend my Coloring Class June 18th!

As usual I used many layers. For my background I used the Petals A Plenty Embossing Folder and actually used the reversed side of flowers. The bottom is punched with the Eyelet Border Punch. I punch the smaller flower with the 1"3/8 Circle Punch and layered this onto the Scallop Circle Punch, which I embellished with the Basic Pearls. For my tag I used Large Tag Punch and the Extra Large Tag Punch which made it a breeze to center the sentiment. I added some 1 1/4" Stripped Grosgrain Ribbon and finished off the card with some Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz. What do you think?

Pocket Calender Hostess Gift

Today I want to share with you this pocket calender that I made for one of my hostesses. I bought the calender at a local store and its one that has a clear vinyl covering over it. I took out the calender and measured it to determine the dimensions I would need for my cardstock.

The base is the Paisley Designer Series Paper which will be in the new catalog in July! I used the new Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch for the flowers and embellished them with some Basic Pearls. To give it a little texture I ran some Peach Parfait Cardstock through the Big Shot Machine with the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder. The bottom edge was punched with the Scallop Trim Border Punch and it's all finished off with some Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding Ribbon. Wouldn't this make the perfect gift for a busy Mom or Teacher?

Pretty Little Baby Steps

Today's card is a card I actually made a few weeks ago for a swap. It so simple and cute, and you could change the colors for a boy or a girl if you wanted to. I stamped the Baby Steps using Pear Pizazz Classic Ink and the little heart is from the Owl Punch. On the base of the card I used the Tulip Border Embossing Folder (carry over item) and tied some Pear Pizazz Seam Binding Ribbon (also a carry over item) around making a double bow. I finished it off with a Pink Designer Button and some Linen Thread.

Get Well Wishes

Today's card has almost no stamping. Sometimes I love to just punch or cut out several images and play with them until I get the perfect layout and today was one of those days.

The flowers are punched using the Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch as well as the little flower from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, finished with a Basic Rhinestone. The leaves are from the Little Leaves Sizzlet which was run through the Big Shot Machine. For the butterfly I choose the largest one from the Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die and tied a piece of Linen Thread around the body to create the antennae. Notice I stuck with all the In Colors, so I tied some of the Poppy Parade  1/2" Stitched -Poly Ribbon around the bottom.

Happy Birthday Postage Punch

Today's card features the Pretty Postage stamp set along with the coordinating Postage Stamp Punch. One of the things I love most about Stampin' Up! is how everything coordinates and they take a lot of the guess work out of making a really cute card. This card is quick and simple, and who wouldn't want to receive a hand made card from someone they love. I don't know about you, but I never throw out a hand made card that is given to me for a special occasion!

I colored the birthday cake stamp using the Stampin' Write Markers and stamped on scrap Whisper White Cardstock. These are great when you want different portions of your image to have different colors because you can color directly onto the stamp. And these markers are well worth the investment; I bought mine 5 years ago, I use them all the time, and I've not yet had to replace a single one!

I punched these out with the Postage Stamp Punch and layered them with Dimensionals on squares punched out with the 1 3/8" Square Punch. I added three Marina Mist Brads to the bottom to round out the card and then I was finished!

Stepped Up April Thank You

This month I had some thank you cards left over from April and decide to use them for a swap I participated in this month. I didn't have time to make new cards so I decided to "step up" my thank yous.

Originally I stamped the card with the Ornate Blossom stamp in More Mustard Classic Ink and then over that I stamped the "thank you" from the With All My Heart stamp set with Early Espresso Classic Ink. To step it up I added some Basic Pearls along the bottom and tied a Early Espresso Satin Ribbon around the top. Simple yet elegant, don't you think?
