MOJO 217: My Sweet Friend

Here is my card for this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge:

Today I didn't feel like making a Christmas card, however I was thinking that the Holly Berry DSP would go perfectly with this weeks sketch. So, I thought I could change it up a bit and use it with the You Are Loved stamp set from the Holiday Mini Catalog. I am so please with how it turned out, and excited I figured out a way to use Christmas supplies in a non Christmas way. I think this stamp set is going to be a favorite of mine, even long after it's no longer available in the Holiday Mini.

Here is a close up of the little flower embellishment I made using the Itty Bitty Punches. I finished it off with a tiny Pearl from the Basic Pearls. Now what friend wouldn't want to receive this card in the mail?

Stamps: You Are Loved, Love Blossoms Wheel
Ink:Garden Green, Real Red, Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake
Card stock:Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip, So Saffron, Holly Berry DSP
Accessories: Holly Berry Buttons, Certainly Celery Satin Ribbon, Linen Thread, Dimensionals, Glue Dots

Saturday Swap

This weeks swap is another one from Sam. I'm thinking she made this for one of the MOJO Monday sketches a couple of weeks ago. Doesn't it look similar to the card I posted here. I love how she used non traditional colors for a Christmas card, along with the Spice Cake DSP. Who would have thought to use these for Christmas? Thanks Sam!

Saturday Swap

Today's swap is not a card but rather a holiday ornament, and isn't it so pretty? I received this from my upline Brenda after mentioning last month how much I loved it! It's made with small strips of Designer Series Paper and Glimmer Paper. It's finished off with some Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding and a couple pearls. Thanks Brenda!

Stamps: Warmest Wishes
Ink: Cherry Cobbler
Card stock:Wild Wasabi Textured CS, Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green, Silver Glimmer Paper, Whisper White
Accessories: Lace Border Punch, Large Scallop Circle Punch, Decorative Label Punch, Fancy Favor Die, Mini Jingle Bells

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #11

Here is my card for this weeks Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #11:

This card has very little layers so it would make the perfect Christmas card for mailing. Often when I do very little layers I will emboss the base card to give the card more depth. For this one I embossed it using the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder. My focal point is Dasher and I embellished the card with Basic Rhinestones; some plain and some that I colored with permanent markers.

Here is a close up of the Basic Rhinestones. Ever since I learned that it is possible to color them I am constantly asking myself if I can color a rhinestone to go with the card. I hope you enjoy it!

Stamps: Dasher, Warmest of Wishes
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Cherry Cobbler
Card stock: Crumb Cake, Holly Berry DSP, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla
Accessories: Basic Rhinestones, Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder, Dimensionals

Mojo 215: Birthday Stars

Here is my card for this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge:

As soon as I saw this sketch I just knew I wanted to use the Stars Die with the Glimmer Paper to make the perfect sparkling birthday card. This card is a wonderful example for a masculine card. I used both the Hounds tooth and Square Lattice Embossing Folders to give it some texture. And the Mini Brads add the perfect finishing touch to the card.

Stamps: Happiest Birthday Wishes
Ink:Island Indigo
Card stock: Basic Black, Island Indigo, Whisper White, Silver & Red Glimmer Paper
Accessories: Stars Die, Hounds tooth Embossing Folder, Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Mini Brads, Dimensionals

Saturday Swap

Here is a swap I received from my sideline Sam. She always puts so much detail into her cards that makes them so stunning! It's hard to tell but the drops at the top are stamped in shimmer paint to create a subtle rain look. Thanks Sam, I always love all your swaps!

November Stamp Club Projects

Here are this month stamp club projects:

This month we made gift card holders. This one used all the stamps from a single set!

Inside the holder.

The second gift card holder we made.

And this was the bonus tag that those who attend get to make. The ornament is puffed up so that it is 3-D.

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #9

Today I would like to share with you a new sketch challenge that I have chosen to participate in. I've found that I make my best creations and have the most fun creating when I'm doing a challenge. So, I've been looking around at some of the various blogs and I have my eye on a few that I think I just may try. Here is one of them.....

Here is my card for the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge # 9:

Now, this may look like a pretty simple layout, however I actually had a bit of trouble getting started. I ended up designing my card around the Filigree Brads on either side. I then choose the Denim Jean Ribbon as I've been wanting to use this on a card lately. After staring at the brads and ribbon for a while a little bit of country came into my mind so I went with the Countryside stamp sent. Finished with the "thank you" from the Delightful Dozen stamp set and there you have it. My first creation for the Freshly Made Sketches! What do you think?

Stamps: Countryside, Delightful Dozen
Ink: Timber Staz On, More Mustard, Cajun Craze, Chocolate Chip, Cherry Cobbler, Wild Wasabi, Garden Green
Card stock: Garden Green, Wild Wasabi, Chocolate chip, Whisper White
Accessories: Aqua Painter, Tulip Embossing Folder Filigree Brads, Denim Jean Ribbon, Dimensionals
