You're Amazing

Today I'm sharing a birthday card that I made for my nephew. I used one of the stamp sets that I received at Convention and I have to say it's one of my favorites. This stamp set can be used for masculine or feminine, young or old alike. I made this card relatively simple as my nephew is entering his teen years and I was sure he would like the simplicity of it.

Saturday Swap

Today's card is one I received from a friend who participates in many of my organized swaps, Marlene Caravello. This is a shadow box card and I absolutely love it! What a cleaver way to use the new Natural Composition Specialty Paper.

Here is a close up of the inside, and she even made a little nest for the bird. Thanks so much, Marlene!

Basic Butterflies

Today's card was the bonus card for my monthly stamp club in August. For those who attend there is a third project for them to make. My focus for these projects are simple cards that can be created with minimal supplies. I want my club members to see how they can create beautiful cards in mere minutes. Most of these cards require punches or the Big Shot machine so they get the most hands on experience of creating the card themselves.

Fun Friday - August 31, 2012

Today I wanted to share some photos of my garden. One of the reasons I don't get to post as much as I would like in the summer is becasue I have lots of other hobbies that keep me busy. One of them is the garden......

The garden is about 350 square feet and this year we planted zuccinni, spaghetti squash, radishes, cucumbers, green beans, green chile, jalapenos, and this year we have about 8 tomatoe planst (each year we plant more than the last).

Here is my cat Kiki who loves to hang out on the patio and watch the birds.

This is the one she was eyeing. She does this little talking thing where she meows but it sounds like she is trying to say something to them. It's so cute!

Well, I hope you enjoyed a little look into my garden. See you next week!

General Swaps for Convention

Here are my swaps I made for general swapping at Convention.

This card has minimal layers, but a great focal point with the flower and butterfly.

This card is much more stunning in person as you can see the bling of the rhinestones all over the card.

This card uses the Ronald McDonald stamp set in this years catalog. We actually received this set for free on the last day of Convention so whom ever swapped with me for this card, you already have an idea of how to use it.

I think these cards are pretty self explanatory if you wanted to recreate them, however if you have any questions at all or would like a detail recipe please feel free to email me.

Fun Friday - Convention 2011 Highlights

Today I wanted to share some fun pictures from last years Stampin' Up! Convention in Salt Lake City. As I share these with you today I am busy, busy, busy preparing for this year's Convention, which is in a little over a week! If you know me, you know I take hundreds of swaps to Convention and this year will be no different. I've been working steadily for the last month, along with some wonderful helpers, and I am happy to say we are almost done! I can't wait to see what beautiful displays Stampin' Up! shares with us this year. Here are just a few from last year, enjoy!

My wonderfull sidelines, Mindy & Kelly, who attended Convention with me last year!

The Main stage which is where Shelly spoke to us each day and we got to see lots of stamping demonstrations as well!

Saturday Swap

Today's swap is from Susan Creer. This is the new 2012/2013 Ronald McDonald Set from Stampin' Up! Proceeds from the sale of this set go to benefit the Ronald McDonald House. I love how Susan used the colors from the Designer Series Paper to help make the focal point "pop". I think this set is going to be one of my favorites!

Fun Friday Stamp Club Swap

This was my swap for June's stamp club meeting. The Designer Series Paper is retired Sale-A-Bration, however I loved it and I have a lot of it left. I used the Doily Sizzlet as my focal point. This card is pretty simple and pretty, but don't let the looks fool you. If any of you have used the Doily Sizzlet you know it requires a bit of patience to pop out all the little holes!

Because it's on going each month you can continue until you have a full scrapbook or just when you can make it! Our next meeting is July 5th at 6:30pm, email me if you would like more information or would like to join us. The cost is $7 or free with a $25 Stampin' Up! order.

Saturday Swap

Today's swap is one that I received from one of my pen pals from Canada, Sarah Orr. What a stunning card just perfect for summer. And the picture doesn't do this card justice; if you could see it in person you would see that she sponged each butterfly to give the card more dimension. I'm sure there was some patience involved with this cards which in a way helps me get to know Sarah better, with out words. Our cards sometimes say much more about us then we realize. Thank you Sarah, for such a lovely card!

Fun Friday!

Today I wanted to share with you a little candy dish I made to keep on my desk for my coworkers. I just found an old jar that was laying around the house and put some Designer Series Paper inside so that it would show through the glass. On the outside I decorated it with some flowers cut from the Big Shot.

Let me tell you this little candy dish is a hit! I never fill it up when ever any one is around,  so no one knows when it will be filled or with what. I love it when someone shouts "ohhh, yummy" when they walk by and discover I've filled it with new treats inside!

Saturday Swap

Today's swap is one I received from Jeanne Boulay back in April. I love how simple and pure this cards is. She used the Crosses of Hope stamp set as her focal point along with the Oval Frame Embossing Folder. If you don't think you can make a card with very minimal supplies, Jeanne just showed you how!

Happy Friday! How about a Fun Friday?

Today's card is a swap I received from Jan Waters a couple months ago. I just loved it as I could relate so well with it. If you all know me you know I love stamp sets and its always very hard for me to get rid of them once they retire. I've had to learn to be better about this as my space has been condensed since I've moved, and I only keep my very favorite retired stamp sets. I actually cried this last time the retired stamp list came out as I pulled stamp set after stamp set out of my drawer. While this was sad for me, it did make room for new sets and I was able to find new loving homes for those sets that I so loved. I think I will leave this card on my stamping desk (maybe in a frame?) so that I can live vicariously through Suzie Stamper on the card. Thanks so much Jan, your card touches my heart!

So, what about the title of this post and how does this card relate? Well, I have several cards, projects, photos, ect. that I'm always wanting to share, however often times I find they are not current products, or sometimes even Stampin' Up! (although I try to always use Stampin' Up products as I love them so).  Fridays are so lacidasial as it's the end of the week and the weekend is nearing, so why not have a day just to share whatever I want! Well, that's what I'm going to try out. This will be my day to share more personal fun items, rather than things associated with my business. Check back next Friday and be sure to tell me how you like the posts!

Button Buddies

Today's card is one I made several months ago however I'm just now getting around to posting it. It's made with the Button Buddies stamps set, which last year was my favorite stamp set in the catalog, however I think I may have a new one this year! The Brights Designer Buttons coordinate perfectly with the vase of flowers from this stamp set.

I know I've been absent lately. I'm going to try to post a couple times a week, however it probably won't be everyday. I've been focusing more on my health lately and between working out and a full time job , I just don't have as much time to stamp. I promise to try to be better about posting, even if they aren't always my own!

Saturday Swap

Today's swap was made by Roxie Netti. This is one of the new stamp sets from the recently released 2012/2013 Stampin' Up! Catalog called Betsy's Blossom. I love the way Roxie layered the different shades of yellow to make the large blossoms. And what a wonderful way to incorporate one of the new In Colors (Midnight Muse) with the already current colors. Well done!
