MOJO 192: With Love

Here is my card for this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch

Today I am using one of the hostess sets from the Summer Mini Catalog called Love & Care. When I first saw this set it screamed Water Color Crayons to me. So today I used them to color the stamps and created a light subtle stamped image. To learn step by step how to achieve this water colored effect plan to attend my Coloring Class June 18th!

As usual I used many layers. For my background I used the Petals A Plenty Embossing Folder and actually used the reversed side of flowers. The bottom is punched with the Eyelet Border Punch. I punch the smaller flower with the 1"3/8 Circle Punch and layered this onto the Scallop Circle Punch, which I embellished with the Basic Pearls. For my tag I used Large Tag Punch and the Extra Large Tag Punch which made it a breeze to center the sentiment. I added some 1 1/4" Stripped Grosgrain Ribbon and finished off the card with some Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz. What do you think?

Pocket Calender Hostess Gift

Today I want to share with you this pocket calender that I made for one of my hostesses. I bought the calender at a local store and its one that has a clear vinyl covering over it. I took out the calender and measured it to determine the dimensions I would need for my cardstock.

The base is the Paisley Designer Series Paper which will be in the new catalog in July! I used the new Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch for the flowers and embellished them with some Basic Pearls. To give it a little texture I ran some Peach Parfait Cardstock through the Big Shot Machine with the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder. The bottom edge was punched with the Scallop Trim Border Punch and it's all finished off with some Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding Ribbon. Wouldn't this make the perfect gift for a busy Mom or Teacher?

Pretty Little Baby Steps

Today's card is a card I actually made a few weeks ago for a swap. It so simple and cute, and you could change the colors for a boy or a girl if you wanted to. I stamped the Baby Steps using Pear Pizazz Classic Ink and the little heart is from the Owl Punch. On the base of the card I used the Tulip Border Embossing Folder (carry over item) and tied some Pear Pizazz Seam Binding Ribbon (also a carry over item) around making a double bow. I finished it off with a Pink Designer Button and some Linen Thread.

Get Well Wishes

Today's card has almost no stamping. Sometimes I love to just punch or cut out several images and play with them until I get the perfect layout and today was one of those days.

The flowers are punched using the Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch as well as the little flower from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, finished with a Basic Rhinestone. The leaves are from the Little Leaves Sizzlet which was run through the Big Shot Machine. For the butterfly I choose the largest one from the Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die and tied a piece of Linen Thread around the body to create the antennae. Notice I stuck with all the In Colors, so I tied some of the Poppy Parade  1/2" Stitched -Poly Ribbon around the bottom.

Happy Birthday Postage Punch

Today's card features the Pretty Postage stamp set along with the coordinating Postage Stamp Punch. One of the things I love most about Stampin' Up! is how everything coordinates and they take a lot of the guess work out of making a really cute card. This card is quick and simple, and who wouldn't want to receive a hand made card from someone they love. I don't know about you, but I never throw out a hand made card that is given to me for a special occasion!

I colored the birthday cake stamp using the Stampin' Write Markers and stamped on scrap Whisper White Cardstock. These are great when you want different portions of your image to have different colors because you can color directly onto the stamp. And these markers are well worth the investment; I bought mine 5 years ago, I use them all the time, and I've not yet had to replace a single one!

I punched these out with the Postage Stamp Punch and layered them with Dimensionals on squares punched out with the 1 3/8" Square Punch. I added three Marina Mist Brads to the bottom to round out the card and then I was finished!

Stepped Up April Thank You

This month I had some thank you cards left over from April and decide to use them for a swap I participated in this month. I didn't have time to make new cards so I decided to "step up" my thank yous.

Originally I stamped the card with the Ornate Blossom stamp in More Mustard Classic Ink and then over that I stamped the "thank you" from the With All My Heart stamp set with Early Espresso Classic Ink. To step it up I added some Basic Pearls along the bottom and tied a Early Espresso Satin Ribbon around the top. Simple yet elegant, don't you think?

Sweet Treat Bag for Pam

Today I am on my way to Missouri to visit my good friend Pam. Pam actually took me to my first stamp club meeting (where I got hooked!) and introduced me to my upline Brenda. This is one of the little surprises I have to show my appreciation to her for having me visit.

I used the Fancy Favor Bigz XL Die with the Big Shot to make the box from a 12 x 12 sheet of Cherry Cobbler Cardstock. I stamped the raspberries from the Pretty Postage stamp set using Black Staz On and water colored the image with the Water Color Crayons and an Aqua Painter. I punched this out with the new Postage Stamp Punch and layered this using Dimensionals over a 1 3/8" Square. I finished it off with a  1 1/4" Basic Black Striped Grosgrain Ribbon and added some white filler.

This would be a perfect hostess gift filled with some candy, plant seeds, or even a few tea bags!

Birthday Suprise from my Sister

This is the beautiful card I received from my sister in law this last weekend for my birthday. Isn't it wonderful?!

The stamped image is from the Just Believe stamp set and is embossed and then sponged with Not Quite Navy Classic Ink. She then cut the rectangles and popped them up with Dimensionals. She used the sentiment from  the Elements of Style stamp set and embellished it with the Basic Rhinestones.

I absolutely love it, thank you Lisa!

MOJO 191: Summer Splash

Here is my card for this weeks Mojo Monday

Today I decided to use the Summer Splash stamp set from the New Summer Mini Catalog. Isn't this stamp set so cute for a little boy? I colored the surf boards using the Stamp in Write Markers in Cajun Craze, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, and Marina Mist and stamped them on Naturals White Cardstock. Then I layered this with Crumb Cake, Marina Mist Designer Series Paper, Marina Mist Cardstock and finally Crumb Cake Cardstock. To the side I showcased the little Turtle from the stamp set, stamped him twice so I could layer him with Dimensionals and added Crystal Effects to his shell. I punched a 1 1/4" Circle from Daffodil Delight and then punched the Scallop Circle around that to create the ring around the turtle. I embellished with three little Daffodil Delight Brads and stamped the Happy Birthday from the All Holidays stamp set. I think this card will be perfect for my nephew's birthday in a couple of months! And he's really into stamping and loves this set so this card will be the perfect accompaniment to the stamp set which I will gift him as well!

MOJO 190: The Open Sea for a Friend

Here is my card for this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch

I was going through my cards this weekend and I just don't have enough Masculine cards. I think those are my biggest challenge and since Father's Day is coming up I figured I should probably start focusing on cards for Men. I used The Open Sea stamp set from the new Summer Mini Catalog along with the Nautical Expedition Designer Series Paper. I stamped the sentiment from All Holidays. I created lots of layers and textures using the Square Lattice and Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folders. I also used the Scallop Circles #2 and the Circles #2 BigZ Dies. I embellished the card with some Neutrals Designer ButtonsLinen Thread, and Early Espresso 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon. The final touch was the anchor which I carefully cut out, applied Crystal Effects to it and sprayed it with Gold Glow Smooch Spritz.

MOJO 189: Decked Out Apple Blossoms

OK, I know it's at the last minute again but here it is, my Mojo Monday Sketch:

This week I decided to use the Apple Blossoms Hostess Set as I haven't use this one very much this year and, can you believe it, it will soon retire! I embossed the Riding Hood Red Card Stock using the Square Lattice Embossing Folder. This is layered with the Love Letter Designer Series Paper and trimmed with Basic Black Card Stock punched using the Scallop Edge Border Punch.  The "blossom"  was stamped once using the rock n roll technique, then I stamped it three more times, cut the different sizes out, and layered them with Dimensionals as you can see below. I made a little tag and added some Very Vanilla Brads. It's finished off with the Very Vanilla Hodgepodge Designer Label Holder tied with Linen Thread that I colored Black with the Basic Black Marker.
